Early Field Goal Battle
The game began with a strong offensive showing from Houston. In the first quarter, Nico Collins caught a seven-yard pass from C.J. Stroud for a touchdown, followed by Ka'imi Fairbairn’s 51-yard field goal.
Dallas responded with a 39-yard field goal by Brandon Aubrey. By the end of the second quarter, the score was 16-6 in favor of the Texans, as Fairbairn added two more field goals of 39 and 54 yards, while Aubrey hit a 50-yarder. The halftime score stood at 16-6 for Houston.

However, Stroud and Collins connected for a 22-yard touchdown pass to push Houston ahead 23-16. Williams then rushed for a one-yard touchdown, bringing Dallas within four points at 23-20 before the end of the third quarter.
