The popular animated series "King of the Hill" has returned for its 15th season on Hulu, with all 10 episodes released on July 20. The show, which first aired in 1997, has its fictional town of Arlen modeled after Richardson, Texas. This season is particularly notable as it includes the University of Texas at Dallas, located in Richardson's Telecom Corridor.
Co-creator Mike Judge, who lived in Richardson during the 1990s, has previously confirmed that Arlen was inspired by the city. While Arlen is a blend of various Dallas-area suburbs, the essence of Richardson is evident in the show's depiction of suburban life.
In addition to the university, the season features other North Texas landmarks, including a scene where Hank repairs the arm of Big Tex at the State Fair of Texas. Bobby, now an adult, runs a fusion restaurant in Dallas and navigates his culinary ambitions. The voice cast includes returning actors Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, and Pamela Adlon, among others.
The series has been renewed through season 17, continuing its legacy as a beloved portrayal of suburban life in Texas.
