Van Alstyne Public Library will open on Fridays and stay open two hours later on Saturdays under a new schedule that begins Thursday, Oct. 1.
The city lists these hours for the library at 151 W. Cooper St.: Monday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Patrons who usually visit after work should check their day. Monday and Wednesday closing time moves from 6 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday closing moves from 7 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday retains its 7 p.m. closing time. All four weekdays will begin service an hour earlier.
Saturday service, previously 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will run until 4 p.m. The city announced the change in its Sept. 14 newsletter and lists the new schedule on the library website.
