Van Alstyne Independent School District students will observe an extended weekend with no classes scheduled for Monday, Sept. 7, or Tuesday, Sept. 8. The district announced that Monday’s closure is in observance of Labor Day. Additionally, students will be off on Tuesday, Sept. 8, while district teachers and staff report for a designated staff workday.
Regular classes are set to resume on Wednesday, Sept. 9. The district stated that it looks forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready to learn. Families are reminded of these specific dates to plan their schedules accordingly for the start of the school week.
