Spurs lead early, Hawks finish
The Atlanta Hawks overcame a 19-point deficit after the first quarter to beat the San Antonio Spurs 123-116 in a preseason game Thursday at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio.
The Spurs scored 39 points in the opening quarter to Atlanta's 20. The Hawks cut into that with a 42-30 second quarter, trailing 69-62 at halftime, and went ahead in the second half by winning the third quarter 31-26 and the fourth 30-21.
Stat leaders
Dylan Harper led San Antonio with 16 points and four assists in 19 minutes. Stephon Castle and David Jones Garcia each scored 14, and Keldon Johnson had seven rebounds.
