The Dallas Cowboys have signed Von Miller, recognized as the NFL's active leader in career sacks, to a one-year contract. Miller announced the news via an Instagram post where he shared his enthusiasm with the phrase, "Hereee Weee Gooo."
Hailing from DeSoto, Texas, which is about 25 minutes south of Dallas, Miller has a strong connection to the region, having played college football at Texas A&M. He is entering his 15th NFL season after spending the last year with the Washington Commanders, where he achieved 26 tackles and nine sacks over the course of 17 games.
Miller is a two-time Super Bowl champion, securing victories with the Denver Broncos in 2015 and the Los Angeles Rams in 2021. Drafted second overall by the Broncos in 2011, he has also played for the Buffalo Bills. With a total of 138.5 sacks, he is tied for 13th place in NFL history, sharing the spot with Hall of Famer DeMarcus Ware, a former Cowboy.
In addition to his impressive sack record, Miller has tallied 607 tackles, 271 quarterback hits, and 27 forced fumbles across 203 games. His career accolades include three First Team All-Pro honors and eight Pro Bowl selections. The Cowboys will kick off their 2026 regular season on September 13 with a matchup against the New York Giants in a Sunday Night Football game.
