Acy is listed at 6 feet, 7 inches. His size and skill set are described as useful on both sides of the floor, including rim protection, passing-lane disruption, blocks and deflections. He is the son of Quincy Acy, a former Baylor forward who played for the Bears from 2008 through 2012.
Quincy Acy earned a place on the All-Big 12 Defensive Team for the 2011-12 season and was recognized for scoring, rebounding and blocking shots near the basket. Baylor coach Scott Drew coached him throughout his four seasons with the program, creating a potential opportunity for Drew to lead another member of the Acy family.
Before taking his Baylor role, Drew was an assistant at Valparaiso under his father, Hall of Fame coach Homer Drew. It is not clear whether the family connection will affect Bear Acy's choice.
