The Houston Texans have ruled wide receiver Nico Collins out of Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. Collins sustained a Grade 1 hamstring strain during practice last week and missed practice during the week. He also did not play in Houston’s loss to Cincinnati, leaving the team without its leading receiving threat for a second consecutive game.

Houston and Indianapolis are both 0-2, with each team seeking its first victory. The Texans scored six points in a 20-6 defeat to the Bengals. Dalton Schultz may see more passes after catching 12 of 14 throws for 140 yards against Cincinnati.
Eight of those catches came in the fourth quarter. Schultz has 16 receptions for 175 yards over two games, the team’s top totals in both categories.
Houston may use additional tight ends or rely more heavily on its rushing attack. David Montgomery and Woody Marks had little success against Cincinnati, as the Texans’ running backs gained an average of 1.5 yards per carry. Indianapolis has surrendered 354 rushing yards at 5.4 yards per carry through two games.
