The Dallas Cowboys are arranging workouts with several players, including former safety Juanyeh Thomas, as the team manages multiple defensive injuries. The club expects Jonathan Bullard to miss three to five weeks with a calf injury and Jalen Thompson to be out at least four weeks because of a hamstring issue.
Both injuries occurred in Dallas' loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Rio. Bullard had already missed most of training camp because of an earlier injury. Thompson could join safety P.J. Locke on injured reserve with a designation to return, according to the report.
Cornerback Shavon Revel is recovering from knee and ankle problems. Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Revel was progressing well and could return to practice this week, leaving open a possible appearance against Houston in Week 4, though the Cowboys have not confirmed he will play. Dallas also does not expect Cobie Durant to travel to South Texas while he recovers from a hamstring injury.
Malik Hooker, who fractured his forearm in the season opener, may need more time, while DeMarvion Overshown could resume practicing this week after missing two games with a hamstring injury. The depleted safety group is among the personnel issues facing first-year defensive coordinator Christian Parker before the Cowboys visit the Texans, who are still without a win.
