Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday that safety Jalen Thompson is expected to miss at least four weeks because of a hamstring injury. Dallas has not said whether Thompson will be placed on injured reserve, although he is considered a possible candidate for the list.
Thompson was hurt in the second quarter of the Cowboys’ 34-31 loss to the Ravens in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. His injury adds to the team’s absences at safety. Malik Hooker has missed the last two games with a forearm injury, while P.J. Locke went on injured reserve Saturday with a foot injury.
Thompson had played every defensive snap through Dallas’ first nine-plus quarters of the season before leaving Sunday’s game. He had 17 tackles during that span.
