The Dallas Cowboys have added tight end Mitch Van Vooren to their roster after he was released by the New England Patriots on August 18. This move comes as the Cowboys are dealing with injuries among their backup tight ends, including Brevyn Spann-Ford, Michael Trigg, and D.J. Rogers.

As a result, the team had just two healthy tight ends available in their most recent preseason game.

Van Vooren, who is yet to make an appearance in a regular-season NFL game, will have a chance to demonstrate his abilities in the Cowboys' final preseason matchup. There have been no further announcements regarding the team's plans for him.
