Jalen Thompson could be unavailable for four weeks or longer after suffering a hamstring injury, Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said. Jones also indicated the team will look for additional safety help, though no possible players or teams were identified.
Thompson was hurt in Dallas’ 34-31 defeat against the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil. The Cowboys had a chance to send the game into overtime near the end, but Baltimore connected on a lengthy pass and then kicked the winning field goal.
Dallas entered that matchup with a 1-2 record. The team had previously allowed the New York Giants to generate a strong offensive showing in Week 1 and surrendered late production to Marcus Mariota in Week 2. The Cowboys are set to face the 0-3 Houston Texans next Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern time in Houston.
