North Texas has confirmed that Tayven Jackson will serve as the starting quarterback for their upcoming game against Indiana University, ranked No. 6. This matchup is scheduled for September 5 at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana.

Jackson, who hails from Greenwood, Indiana, previously played for Indiana University for two seasons. He had a notable high school career at Center Grove before spending time at various colleges, including the Tennessee football program in 2022.

Following his tenure at IU, he moved to the University of Central Florida, where he recorded a personal best of 2,151 passing yards, achieving 10 touchdown passes and 8 interceptions during his time there.

Beyond football, Jackson has a family connection to IU, as he is the younger sibling of Trayce Jackson-Davis, a former basketball player for the Hoosiers. Trayce has announced his intention to attend the game to support his brother.

This game will mark IU's first appearance since they celebrated their inaugural national championship victory in January.
