The Houston Texans are facing uncertainty regarding wide receiver Tank Dell as the season opener approaches. Dell has been limited in practice, participating only in individual drills and a few team exercises since he began training during the second week of camp. Reports indicate that he has not practiced in front of the media recently, raising concerns about his readiness.

Despite two league sources stating that Dell has not suffered a setback, he has not been able to practice consistently. With the final preseason game approaching, it seems unlikely that he will be available to play.

The Texans may need to adjust their roster plans and keep seven wide receivers as they await Dell's return, which is particularly important given the recent ACL injury to Jayden Higgins.

Candidates like Xavier Hutchinson and Jaylin Noel are now vying for the No. 2 wide receiver position opposite Nico Collins. While there is optimism that Dell can regain his explosive abilities, it remains unclear when he will be able to perform at his previous level.

Until he can participate fully in a regular season game, the Texans cannot depend on him, although his return could enhance the team's prospects for the season.
