Dalton Schultz, the tight end for the Houston Texans, did not participate in any of the team's three preseason games. Along with Schultz, both running back David Montgomery and wide receiver Nico Collins were also absent. Quarterback C.J. Stroud had limited action during the game against the Raiders on August 20.

Coming off a strong 2025 regular season, Schultz recorded a career-high 82 receptions and 777 receiving yards, his best performance since 2021 with the Cowboys, where he achieved 808 yards.

With Jayden Higgins out for the entire 2026 season because of a knee injury and Tank Dell starting the season on injured reserve, Schultz and Collins are anticipated to be significant targets for Stroud as the season progresses.

Further information regarding the Texans' roster and injury status remains unclear.
