The Houston Texans placed linebacker Jake Hummel on injured reserve Saturday after he sustained a groin injury in the team's Week 1 loss to the Bills. The roster designation keeps him out for a minimum of four games before a possible reinstatement to the active roster can be considered.
Hummel has not returned to practice since the injury. Jake Hansen is expected to remain a starting linebacker while Hummel is unavailable, joined in the lineup by Azeez Al-Shaair and Aiden Fisher.
