The Houston Texans still have not settled Nico Collins’ status for their Week 3 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts. Collins missed his second consecutive practice because of a hamstring injury, and Houston has one practice remaining before the game. No final decision had been announced.
The 27-year-old hurt the hamstring while preparing for Week 2 and was inactive against the Cincinnati Bengals. In Houston’s 36-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, Collins caught seven of 10 targets for 75 yards and a touchdown. If he cannot play at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte could see larger roles.
Tight end Dalton Schultz has produced 175 receiving yards on 16 catches through two games, the team’s top downfield total.
A missed Week 3 game would move Collins’ next possible appearance to Week 4, when Houston is scheduled to host the Dallas Cowboys. Collins has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last three seasons, reaching 1,117 yards in 2025, putting that run at risk. The former Michigan Wolverines player also received an offseason contract adjustment from the Texans.
