Marcel Reed will remain Texas A&M's starting quarterback after the No. 23 Aggies fell 35-6 to No. 10 LSU. Coach Mike Elko gave a one-word response, "No," when asked if Reed might be benched. TexAgs posted the exchange on X, and Yahoo Sports also reported it.
Reed went 10-for-26 passing against LSU, producing 106 yards and one interception. His 38.4% completion mark could be the lowest of his college career, according to the report. Through four games this season, he has thrown for 738 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions. He has completed 55.4% of his passes, a career-low rate, while running for 104 yards and one touchdown.
Reed's previous season included 3,169 passing yards and 25 touchdowns. Texas A&M's next game is against Arkansas in Week 5. The Razorbacks are also 2-2, with the matchup scheduled for Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. EST.
