The game’s momentum shifted dramatically in the fifth inning when Tristan Peters launched his fifth consecutive home run, igniting a scoring barrage that the Rangers’ bullpen could not contain.
Peters joined B. Montgomery and Doyle as key contributors in the White Sox attack. Montgomery had earlier opened the scoring in the second inning with a double that brought Meidroth across. Doyle followed with a single that scored Montgomery, giving Texas an early 2-0 lead.
However, Chicago’s Pederson responded in the third by homering to right-center field, tying the game at 2-2 and erasing the deficit.
