First-Inning Surge Sets Tone
The Minnesota Twins established early control on Thursday at Globe Life Field, delivering a decisive blow in the opening frame that defined the game. The scoring began when Bell singled to right field, driving in Larnach and advancing Clemens to third base to make it 1-0.
The momentum shifted further in Minnesota's favor when Lee launched a home run to right field, measuring 365 feet. The shot cleared the bases, as Clemens and Bell both crossed the plate, extending the Twins' lead to 4-0. This three-run explosion in the top of the first inning provided the buffer Minnesota would need to withstand a late rally by the home team.
Twins Extend Lead in Fourth
Minnesota continued to apply pressure in the fourth inning. Larnach homered to center field, a 419-foot shot that brought in Keaschall and pushed the score to 6-0. The Twins added another run in the sixth inning when Larnach singled to left, allowing Caratini to score. The 7-0 advantage held through the middle innings despite the Rangers mounting a comeback attempt.
Texas began chipping away at the deficit in the bottom of the sixth. Langford homered to left field (366 feet) to make it 7-1, followed by Duran’s home run to left field (374 feet), which narrowed the gap to 7-2. The Rangers’ offense found some life, but they could not complete the rally against Minnesota’s bullpen.
