Linebacker Jaishawn Barham knocked the ball loose on a screen pass during the first play of a Washington drive early in the third quarter. Dee Winters recovered inside the Washington 20, and two plays later Dak Prescott connected with Jake Ferguson for a 12-yard touchdown and a 27-13 lead. Winters had nine tackles and a fumble recovery, Caleb Downs also made nine tackles, and Barham recorded seven. Safety P.J. Locke left with a foot injury on Washington’s first series, while cornerback Cobie Durant exited in the first half with a hamstring injury, according to the AP.
Prescott completed 26 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns without an interception. His 24-yard fourth-quarter touchdown to CeeDee Lamb gave him 249 career touchdown passes, surpassing Tony Romo’s Cowboys record of 248. Lamb finished with eight catches, 153 yards and two touchdowns. Ferguson caught two scores, and Brandon Aubrey made field goals of 25, 44 and 60 yards. Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels dislocated his left elbow on the final play of the first half. Coach Dan Quinn said imaging showed no fracture, and Marcus Mariota finished the game. Dallas plays Baltimore on Sunday, Sept. 27, at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, with kickoff at 3:25 p.m. Central.
