Van Alstyne Fire-Rescue is adding to its ranks, and anyone who wants one of the openings has until Tuesday to apply.
The department is recruiting for two positions, the city said in its VA Insider newsletter:
- Firefighter/paramedic, with listed pay of $70,313.19
- Driver operator, with listed pay of $83,957.18
Both jobs work a 48/96 rotation, in which crews are on duty for 48 hours and then off for 96. The application deadline is Oct. 6. Postings are on the Human Resources page of the city's website, cityofvanalstyne.us/hr.
The city pitched the openings with the line "Good crews. Good training. A lot of growth ahead," and described the department as one where new hires can train, stay active and advance while serving a fast-growing community.
