The City of Van Alstyne is reminding families with students who ride school buses to download the My Ride K-12 application. This digital tool allows parents and guardians to monitor their student's transportation details throughout the school year.

The app provides access to bus schedules, specific bus assignments, and stop locations. Users can view estimated arrival times at designated stops and receive notifications regarding any delays or route changes. The platform also displays student transportation details, including bus numbers and specific pickup and drop-off information.

Residents who prefer using a desktop computer can sign up for the service by visiting myridek12.tylerapp.com. Those with mobile devices can download the My Ride K-12 app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The city advises users to create an account as soon as possible to ensure they are set up before the start of the academic term.

For families who have not yet registered their student for school bus service, enrollment will be available starting on August 19. This registration process takes place via the VAISD Transportation webpage. Bus placement for students is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 24.

The city emphasizes that downloading the app and creating an account is a necessary step for families utilizing public school transportation services in Van Alstyne.
