A Second-Half Surge
The New York Knicks overcame a sluggish start to secure a 94-90 victory over the San Antonio Spurs at the Frost Bank Center on Sunday. After trailing by 10 points at the half, New York outscored the home team 57-48 in the second half to complete the comeback.
The game began with San Antonio controlling the tempo. The Spurs jumped out to an early lead, taking the first quarter 23-13. New York responded in the second period, winning the frame 24-19 to tie the game at 37-37 heading into halftime. The third quarter proved to be a shootout, with both teams trading baskets until the Spurs edged ahead 67-65 entering the final period.
Brunson Dominates the Floor
Jalen Brunson was the decisive factor for New York. He finished with a game-high 45 points, providing the offensive firepower necessary to dismantle the Spurs' defense in the closing minutes. Brunson’s scoring output was instrumental in the Knicks' ability to erase the deficit and pull away late in the contest.
The Spurs had their own standout performance from Dylan Harper, who contributed 25 points. However, Harper’s efforts were not enough to hold off New York’s late push. Victor Wembanyama controlled the glass for San Antonio, grabbing 14 rebounds, while De'Aaron Fox facilitated the offense with 5 assists.
