Despite the revocation, the Star-Telegram continued its coverage of the incident. TCU Athletics released a statement affirming its commitment to progress and recognizing the importance of the newspaper as an independent news source in the community. The Horned Frogs began their season with a loss against North Carolina, with a game against Grambling State scheduled for September 12.
The suspension of the Star-Telegram's credentials was reportedly related to threats made against Ezukanma, although the newspaper clarified it did not disclose his identity following the incident. With the reinstatement, the Star-Telegram will regain full access to media areas during TCU games.
