The Dallas Cowboys agreed this week to keep receiver Ryan Flournoy and tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford under contract beyond the 2026 season, before either player has completed a breakout year. Their extensions have a combined maximum value of $24 million.
Flournoy’s new one-year agreement could pay him $6 million and runs through 2027. He had 40 catches, 475 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 2025. A report said he is expected to become the team’s primary No. 3 receiver.
His size and athleticism allow him to play all three receiver spots in the Cowboys’ 11-personnel sets. The deal may help preserve the group of top receivers if George Pickens leaves following the current season.
Spann-Ford signed a three-year contract with a maximum value of $18 million, including $12.075 million guaranteed. He will remain with Dallas through 2029. After joining the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2024, he competed last season with Luke Schoonmaker for snaps behind Jake Ferguson.
The agreements differ from the Cowboys’ earlier practice of waiting for players to establish themselves before negotiating long-term deals. The report pointed to previous extensions involving Terence Steele, Jaylon Smith, Dak Prescott, Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland. Yahoo Sports reported the contract details.
