Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently listed as day-to-day due to an ankle injury, according to head coach Dave Aranda. The decision on Lagway's participation in the upcoming game against Prairie View A&M will be based on his performance during practice this week.

In his debut with Baylor, Lagway completed 27 of 54 passes for 333 yards, recording two touchdowns and one interception in a close 17-16 loss to Auburn. The Bears' inability to convert a crucial two-point attempt contributed to their defeat.

Auburn's head coach Alex Golesh praised Lagway's toughness, stating, "If you’ve got any question on how tough that kid is... he got banged up early, and that is a tough, tough football player."

Lagway transferred to Baylor after two seasons with the Florida Gators, where he was a highly regarded recruit. He initially started for Florida but entered the transfer portal after the coaching change. Last season, he finished with 2,264 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions.

Former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow suggested that Lagway needed a fresh start and expressed optimism about his potential at Baylor. Further updates on Lagway's injury status are pending.
