The Houston Texans placed rookie Kayden McDonald on their injury report after he did not participate in a recent practice session because of an ankle problem. The team’s 2026 first-round selection, chosen with the 36th overall pick after moving up in the draft order, was one of two players absent from the workout.
Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reported that McDonald was the only player missing from the viewing portion of the session. His absence stands in contrast to fellow rookie Will Anderson Jr., whose lack of participation was attributed to a scheduled rest day rather than a physical ailment.
The Texans are currently monitoring McDonald’s condition as they prepare for their Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills.
