Nate Bennett is expected to take Baylor’s quarterback duties against Louisiana Tech if DJ Lagway is unavailable. Bennett made his first start in the Bears’ win over Prairie View A&M, completing 26 of 34 passes for 314 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 13 yards and a touchdown, but threw two interceptions.

Lagway is listed as doubtful for Baylor’s Week 3 game after an ankle sprain kept him out against Prairie View A&M. He sustained the injury in the season-opening loss to Auburn, the game in which he played after transferring from Florida.

Baylor coach Dave Aranda said Lagway participated in a Monday walkthrough and would be evaluated through his practice work. The injury is not expected to sideline him for a month or longer, although it is unclear whether he could play in an emergency against Louisiana Tech. On3’s Pete Nakos reported that Baylor hopes Lagway returns for its Big 12 opener against Colorado next Saturday.

Edward Griffin is listed as QB2 on the depth chart, followed by Quinn Murphy as QB3.
