Kenneth Murray, 27, visited the Houston Texans as the team seeks linebacker help after Henry To'oTo'o sustained a shoulder injury. To'oTo'o was placed on injured reserve and is expected to miss several months. Houston also promoted linebacker Jamal Hill from its practice squad to the active roster.
Murray was the Los Angeles Chargers' 23rd overall pick in 2020 after receiving All-American recognition at Oklahoma. He played for the Tennessee Titans in 2024 and paced that team in tackles. The Dallas Cowboys obtained him from Tennessee the next offseason for two draft picks.
Murray opened all 16 games for Dallas last season and produced 81 tackles, four tackles for loss, two pass breakups, one sack and one fumble recovery. He ranked second on the Cowboys in tackles. Since the offseason started, he has had workouts with the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants as well.
Houston could view him as practice-squad depth and potentially elevate him for games, but no deal was reported.
The Texans are scheduled to host the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday at Reliant Stadium, with kickoff set for noon on CBS.
