The Houston Texans announced that wide receiver Jayden Higgins will miss the entire 2026 season due to a torn ACL. This injury occurred during a joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders, as reported by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
Higgins was chosen as the 34th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and had a strong rookie season, accumulating 41 receptions for 525 yards and six touchdowns. He became a vital target for quarterback C.J. Stroud after teammate Tank Dell was injured late in the 2024 season.
During the 2025 season, Higgins recorded 41 catches on 68 targets, notably increasing his target share during Houston's successful nine-game winning streak to end the regular season. His performance peaked late in the season, scoring four of his six touchdowns in the last nine weeks and achieving his top yardage totals in Weeks 13 and 17.
In Higgins' absence, the Texans will rely on players like Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel, and Justin Watson to strengthen their receiving lineup. The team remains optimistic about Tank Dell's potential return as he recovers from his own injury. Details on Higgins' recovery timeline have yet to be disclosed.
