Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko confirmed that wide receiver Madden Williams will miss the entire 2026 season due to a lower-body injury sustained during practice, necessitating surgery. Williams was not dressed for the season opener against Missouri State, joining safety Tawfiq Byard on the sidelines.
His injury compounds the challenges for the Aggies' receiving corps, marking Williams as the third wide receiver unavailable prior to the start of the season. Earlier in fall camp, Jonah Wilson was taken off the roster after transferring from Houston, and just over a week before the opener, Jerome Myles was also announced to be leaving the program for personal reasons.
Myles, a former five-star recruit, had not played in any games for Texas A&M after missing the entire 2025 season due to injury.
With Williams out, the team will depend on primary receivers Mario Craver, Isaiah Horton, and Ashton Bethel-Roman. This situation opens doors for other players on the roster, including true freshman Aaron Gregory, who made a notable contribution in the opener with a 15-yard touchdown catch and two receptions totaling 22 yards.
Kelshaun Johnson and TK Norman will also see increased opportunities, with Johnson recording three catches for 25 yards in the game against Missouri State.
