A First-Half Surge
Arch Manning orchestrated a decisive offensive explosion from the opening whistle, leading the Texas Longhorns to a commanding 28-0 halftime lead over the visiting Texas State Bobcats. The score was tied 0-0 until Manning connected with Cam Coleman on a six-yard touchdown pass in the first period, giving Texas an early 7-0 advantage.
Manning’s efficiency continued as he found Ryan Wingo for an eight-yard strike later in the quarter, extending the lead to 14-0. The Longhorns added to their margin early in the second half when Raleek Brown rumbled for a 13-yard touchdown run. Just before the break, Texas capitalizing on a defensive stop, with Graceson Littleton returning a fumble 59 yards for another touchdown.
Texas State managed to get on the board late in the second period when Davian Jackson scored on a four-yard run, making the score 28-7 at halftime. Despite the Bobcats’ solitary score, the Longhorns maintained overwhelming control throughout the contest.
Third Quarter Dominance
The scoring pace accelerated in the third quarter as Manning threw three touchdown passes to open the period. He first connected with Coleman again, this time on a 20-yard pass, pushing the score to 35-7. Manning then found Hollywood Smothers for a 13-yard touchdown strike, followed by another Brown rushing touchdown from 21 yards out.
These plays increased Texas’s lead to 49-7 before the third quarter concluded.
