Late Rally Secures Victory
The Texas Rangers overcame an early deficit to defeat the Boston Red Sox 7-3 on Thursday. Nathaniel Seager drove in a crucial run with a single in the eighth inning, providing the final margin of victory for Arlington.
Boston took control early when Will Contreras homered to left center in the first inning, scoring Josh Jung and giving the visitors a 2-0 lead. The Rangers responded immediately in the bottom of the frame when Adolis Garcia scored on a ground-rule double by Corey Seager, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
The game remained tight through the middle innings. In the fourth, Marcus Semien singled to center field, scoring Evan Carter for a 2-2 tie. The score stayed level until the fifth inning, when two balks allowed Boston’s Travis Duvall and Alex Bregman to advance, though no runs were scored on those plays.
Later in the frame, Seager hit another single to center, scoring Jung again to put Texas ahead 3-2.
The Rangers broke the game open in the seventh inning. With runners on base, Seager doubled to center field, scoring Duvall. Two batters later, Marcus Semien singled to left, bringing home both Seager and Duvall to extend the lead to 6-3.
