Wyatt Langford provided the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning, singling to left field to drive in David Osuna. The hit gave the Texas Rangers a 7-6 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Friday. Langford’s performance marked a significant contribution in his return from the injured list, capping a comeback that erased a five-run deficit.
Scoring Sequence
The Angels established an early lead, taking a 5-1 advantage into the seventh inning. Their scoring began in the first inning when Brandon Nimmo homered to left center for a 1-0 lead. Ezequiel Duran added to the tally in the third inning with a two-run home run to center, making it 4-1 after Andrew Heaney’s solo shot in the fourth inning extended the lead to 5-1.
The Rangers mounted their rally in the seventh inning. Jonah Heim singled to right to score one run, followed by a two-run single from Seby Zavala that narrowed the gap to 5-3. Salvador Perez then singled to center, scoring one run to make it 5-4. Michael Soler followed with a single to center, driving in another run to tie the game at 5-5. Adolis Garcia’s single to left scored the tying run, making it 6-6 before Langford’s walk-off hit.
