Gore Anchors Rangers Victory
MacKenzie Gore delivered a masterful performance on the mound, pitching seven innings and allowing only three earned runs to secure the win for the Texas Rangers. The right-hander struck out five batters while walking just one, effectively neutralizing the Blue Jays’ offense for the majority of the contest. Gore’s outing improved his record to 5-6, providing the steady foundation the Rangers needed to escape Toronto with a victory.
Rangers Build Early Lead
Texas jumped out to an early advantage in the top of the first inning when Andrew Pederson launched a 402-foot home run to right field, giving the Rangers a 1-0 lead. The momentum shifted further in the third inning when the Rangers’ power display peaked. Josh Jung hit a 401-foot triple-play home run to left center, driving in two runs to make it 4-0. Shortly after, Corey Seager added to the tally with a 378-foot home run to left field, scoring Jung to extend the lead to 6-0.
Blue Jays Rally in Later Innings
Toronto began its comeback attempt in the fifth inning. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a sacrifice fly to center field, allowing Bo Bichette to score and cut the deficit to 6-1. The Blue Jays continued to chip away at the lead later in the same inning. Bo Bichette doubled to left field, bringing in two more runs as the Rangers’ bullpen struggled to maintain control. The score stood at 6-3 after this surge.
