Monday, Oct. 5, is the deadline to register, or to change the address on an existing registration, for the Nov. 3 general election, according to Grayson County Election Administration.

For Grayson County voters in Van Alstyne, the county's early voting location in town is Grayson College South Campus, Library Room 119, at 1455 W. Van Alstyne Pkwy. It is one of eight early voting sites in the county; the others are in Bells, Denison (two), Pottsboro, Sherman, Howe and Whitesboro.

Early voting hours

  • Monday, Oct. 19, through Saturday, Oct. 24: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 25: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 26, through Friday, Oct. 30: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Election Day

On Tuesday, Nov. 3, polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Grayson County uses vote centers, so registered county voters can cast a ballot at any of the county's listed locations. The South Campus library room is on that Election Day list too, alongside sites in Sherman, Denison, Howe, Gunter, Tom Bean, Whitewright, Whitesboro, Collinsville, Pottsboro and other towns.

Mail ballots

Voters who qualify to vote by mail must get their application to the elections office by Friday, Oct. 23. The county's notice says the application has to be received in person or by mail by that date; a postmark does not count.

What's on the ballot

The county's posted sample ballots list federal, statewide, judicial and county races. No local propositions appear on them. Voters can look up their own precinct's ballot on the county elections page, and registration and photo ID information is available at VoteTexas.gov.

Grayson County Election Administration is at 115 W. Houston St. in Sherman and can be reached at 903-893-8683.

The schedule above is Grayson County's. Residents registered in another county follow that county's locations and hours.

Also on Monday, the Grayson County Commissioners Court is scheduled to approve the formal notice of the Nov. 3 election at its 10 a.m. meeting.
