Shoppers who picked up a salad kit at H-E-B recently should check the label: Taylor Farms has pulled its H-E-B Backyard BBQ Chop Salad kit because the bag may contain soy and almonds, a tree nut, that the label does not list.
The Dallas-based company announced the recall Tuesday, Oct. 27, in a notice posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The kits went to H-E-B stores in Texas.
How to tell if you have one
The recall covers the 13.4-ounce H-E-B Backyard BBQ Chop Salad Kit, sold in a plastic bag, with:
- a Best If Used By date of Oct. 30, 2026
- UPC code 041220300457
Only kits with that date and code are part of the recall, according to the notice.
The risk
People who are sensitive or allergic to soy or almonds could have a serious reaction if they eat the salad, the company said. As of the announcement, Taylor Farms said there had been no reports of anyone having a reaction.
