Van Alstyne, Texas — Gas prices in the Sherman-Denison area averaged $3.2270 per gallon for regular unleaded on July 3, 2026, according to AAA, down from $3.2550 yesterday. That is up from $3.1510 a week ago but lower than $3.6560 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.3450, while the national average is $3.8230. Drivers in the Sherman-Denison area are paying below the state average and below the national average.
The Sherman-Denison average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8150. Regular prices are about 43 cents lower than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.6210, drivers are paying about 61 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Sherman-Denison area averages $4.1800 per gallon, AAA reported.
