Van Alstyne, Texas — Gas prices in the Sherman-Denison area averaged $3.6730 per gallon for regular unleaded on July 26, 2026, according to AAA, down from $3.6790 yesterday. That is up from $3.5880 a week ago but higher than $3.1510 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.6950, while the national average is $4.1100. Drivers in the Sherman-Denison area are paying below the state average and below the national average.
The Sherman-Denison average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8150. Regular prices are about 52 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.8110, drivers are paying about 86 cents more per gallon.
