Fourth inning breaks it open

The turning point came in the top of the fourth inning, when Toronto turned Sánchez’s single to left, a throwing error by left fielder Trammell and Clement’s sacrifice fly into two runs in a 3-1 win over Houston on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Daikin Park.

The sequence stretched a one-run Toronto lead to 3-0. Okamoto scored on Sánchez’s single and the error, with Sánchez safe at second and Springer safe at third on the play. Clement then hit a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Springer for the Blue Jays’ third run.

Kirk opens the scoring
