A traffic accident on Sunbeam Road in Grayson County left two women injured on Thursday afternoon. Emergency responders from the Leitchfield Police and Fire Departments, along with EMS, arrived at the scene around 3:15 PM, specifically in the 400 block of Sunbeam Road, at its intersection with Mulberry Street.

According to reports, the incident occurred when an elderly woman from Leitchfield, driving a Kia Rio, attempted to make a turn onto Mulberry Street. During this maneuver, her vehicle collided with a Ford Escape, which was operated by another woman from Grayson County.

The impact caused both vehicles to veer off the road and into ditches. The elderly driver of the Kia was transported to Baptist Health Hardin for medical treatment. Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford Escape was taken to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center by private means. Further details regarding the extent of their injuries have not yet been provided.
