The Van Alstyne Panthers secured a silver medal at the state 7-on-7 football tournament by reaching the championship match. The team concluded their participation with a 6-2 record before falling to Graham in the final contest, 32-25.
Other local programs also advanced during the event. The Tioga Bulldogs progressed to the state quarterfinals before their tournament run ended.
