The Houston Texans are gearing up for their preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders on August 20, facing significant challenges due to injuries. Wide receiver Jayden Higgins has been ruled out for the entire season after suffering a torn ACL, impacting the team's offensive strategy led by quarterback C.J. Stroud.
Despite these setbacks, Stroud is expected to participate in the game, likely playing a few series, potentially up to 25 plays. The first-string offensive line is anticipated to start, while the first-team defense will remain off the field.
With Higgins sidelined, Stroud will rely heavily on wide receiver Nico Collins, who had a successful season last year with 71 receptions for 1,117 yards and six touchdowns. Other receivers, including Tank Dell, Xavier Hutchinson, and Jaylin Noel, will also be called upon to contribute in Higgins' absence.
The Texans are focused on refining their offensive game plan as they prepare for the upcoming season, particularly in light of the loss of key players.
