Turning Point in the Sixth
The Los Angeles Angels seized control of their matchup against the Texas Rangers in the sixth inning, scoring three runs to turn a tie game into a lead they would not relinquish. The momentum shift began with a double by Siri to left field, which drove in Grissom to make it 2-2.
Immediately following, Guzman executed a sacrifice bunt to advance Siri to third and place Peraza in scoring position. Siri then crossed the plate, giving Los Angeles its first lead of the night. The rally concluded when Trout singled to center, bringing Peraza home and extending the advantage to 4-2.
Pitching Performance
George Klassen secured the victory for the Angels, pitching six innings of solid ball. He allowed five hits and two earned runs while striking out five batters and issuing one walk. His performance was bolstered by a strong relief corps.
Blake Weiman pitched 1 1/3 innings, allowing two hits but no earned runs, and recorded his second hold. Ryan Watson followed with 2/3 of an inning, retiring the side in order with one strikeout. Ben Joyce closed out the game, working a perfect inning with one strikeout to earn his first save.
For the Rangers, Cal Quantrill started the game, throwing five innings. He surrendered four hits and one earned run while striking out six. However, the bullpen struggled to contain the Angels' offense.
Robby Ahlstrom took the loss, pitching just 1/3 of an inning and allowing three earned runs on two hits. Peyton Gray and Ben Peoples each pitched portions of the game, with Gray allowing no runs and Peoples giving up one earned run. Cole Winn pitched a scoreless inning to finish the outing.
