Lee’s two homers, Webb’s six shutout innings lift Giants over Rangers 5-1

Lee homered twice and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, while Logan Webb worked six shutout innings as San Francisco beat Texas 5-1 at Globe Life Field.

Giants seize control early

The game’s decisive stretch came before Texas could answer: San Francisco turned a second-inning chance into a two-run cushion, and Logan Webb made it stand in a 5-1 win over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Globe Life Field.

In the top of the second, Gilbert singled to right, and Susac scored on a fielding error by right fielder Nimmo as Gilbert reached third. Basabe followed with a sacrifice fly to right that brought in Gilbert, putting the Giants ahead 2-0.

Lee extends the lead

Lee added to the advantage in the top of the third, homering to right center at 410 feet to make it 3-0. The Giants held that score until the eighth, when Lee homered again to right center, this one at 385 feet, for a 4-0 lead.

San Francisco added its final run in the top of the ninth. Lee hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring McCray and pushing the Giants’ lead to 5-0. Lee’s two home runs and sacrifice fly produced three San Francisco runs.

Webb leads the pitching effort

Logan Webb earned the win and moved to 7-7 after six shutout innings, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out eight.

Keaton Winn recorded his 12th hold with 0.2 innings, one hit, no earned runs, no walks and one strikeout. Sam Hentges earned his seventh hold with 1.1 innings, no hits, no earned runs, one walk and one strikeout. Tristan Beck allowed one earned run on one hit and one walk in 0.1 innings.

Reiver Sanmartin threw 0.2 innings with no hits, no earned runs, no walks and no strikeouts.

For Texas, Cal Quantrill fell to 4-4 after giving up four hits and one earned run in six innings, with one walk and four strikeouts. Ben Peoples pitched one inning with no hits, no earned runs, one walk and one strikeout. Peyton Gray allowed one hit and one earned run in one inning, with one walk and no strikeouts.

Nolan Kingham allowed one hit and one earned run in one inning, with two walks and one strikeout.

Duran accounts for Texas run

Texas scored in the bottom of the ninth when Duran homered to left at 406 feet, accounting for the Rangers’ only run.

The announced attendance was 23,736. Texas fell to 55-58, while San Francisco improved to 48-65.
