Trevon Diggs, a former All-Pro cornerback with the Dallas Cowboys, has signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. This signing marks the Seahawks' second cornerback addition this week, following the acquisition of Terrion Arnold, who is currently facing significant legal challenges in Florida.
At 27 years old, Diggs has made a name for himself in the NFL, recording 20 career interceptions and defending 63 passes. He is anticipated to compete for a spot in the Seahawks' secondary, which is currently dealing with injury issues.
Diggs had previously signed a five-year contract extension worth $97 million with the Cowboys in July 2023. However, he participated in only 22 of 51 potential regular-season games over the subsequent three seasons. His tenure with the Cowboys concluded after a series of events, including an unusual home accident where he reported that a television fell on him, resulting in a lengthy absence in 2025.
The Cowboys eventually waived Diggs after he sought to stay in the Washington, D.C. area with his family after a Christmas Day game, a request that was denied by the team. Shortly after his release from Dallas, he was claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers. Details regarding Diggs' role with the Seahawks and the team's plans for him have yet to be revealed.
