DeGrom’s Sharp Performance

Jacob deGrom anchored the Texas Rangers’ offensive explosion with a masterful pitching display, allowing zero earned runs across six innings of work. The right-hander struck out six batters while issuing two walks, securing his fifth win of the season with a record of 5-4. His ability to contain the Guardians’ lineup provided the perfect foundation for the Rangers’ bats to ignite. Supporting deGrom were Peyton Gray, Tyler Alexander, and Luis Curvelo, each contributing one scoreless inning to preserve the shutout. Gray recorded one hit and one strikeout, while Alexander and Curvelo each allowed a single hit without surrendering a run. Curvelo also added a strikeout to his line.

Early Surge Sets Tone

The Rangers established control early, loading the bases in the first inning. Josh Jung and Foscue capitalized on the opportunity, with Foscue launching a 417-foot home run to left field that drove in Jung for a 2-0 lead. Cleveland’s pitching staff struggled to regain composure, and the Rangers extended their advantage in the third inning. Jung followed up with his own power display, hitting a 382-foot home run to right field to make it 3-0. The scoring continued rapidly as Duran doubled to left, bringing home Foscue and Nimmo to push the lead to 5-0. Burger then reached on an infield single to pitcher, adding another run to make it 6-0.

Offensive Continuity

Texas did not slow its momentum in the fourth inning. Langford contributed to the rout with a 381-foot home run to left, increasing the margin to 7-0. The Rangers’ offense remained relentless, adding another run in the sixth inning when Helman hit a 378-foot home run to left, making the score 8-0. The Guardians’ bullpen faced additional pressure, with Joey Cantillo taking the loss after allowing seven earned runs on nine hits in 5.0 innings. Will Dion and Austin Hedges also pitched for Cleveland, with Dion allowing one earned run on three hits and Hedges surrendering two earned runs on four hits in their combined 3.0 innings.

Closing Out the Game

The Rangers added two more runs in the eighth inning. Carter singled to right, allowing Díaz to score and making it 9-0. Duran followed with a single to right, driving in Jung to complete the 10-0 final score. The victory improved the Rangers’ record to 32-33, while the Guardians fell to 37-30. The game was played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, with an attendance of 34,851 spectators. Four home runs were hit during the contest, all by Rangers players, highlighting the decisive offensive output that led to the shutout.
